Foundations and intensions

My name is Pablo Sanseau and I am 44 years old, I have been teaching English for 14 years; I studied English as a second Language at the “Asociacion Argentina de Cutura Inglesa” during my childhood and adolescence, and then I worked using the language in many international Hotels and Restaurants taking English courses in order to improve my English. I traveled around England and Europe, and also Mexico and South America; always using English as a second Language for communicating. I did my academic training in IFDC Lenguas Vivas (SCB- Argentina) where I obtained the degree of "English Teacher", I work in a rural school in Argentina, in a little village called Casey, in the province of Buenos Aires, and I seek to feel me more and more comfortable with my work and profession. I realize that the more I find interesting resources, theories and techniques the more motivated and interested my students are in the classes, this makes me feel happy and more relaxed with my work, this is the main reason why I develop this blog. So this site is a living portfolio of those links and information taken from my teacher training course and my daily teaching practice.

Philosophy of teaching

Rapport is a central aspect to have into account, a climate of trust and good feelings between the students and the teacher generate obvious favorable conditions to promote learning, and motivate students to use language to communicate.  For this to happen it is essential to provide positive feedback and tolerate errors, by using them not as faults but as natural instances in the learning process through which we guide learners to discover language and its correct use.
Integrating of the four skills is also relevant when planning and designing activities, as also it is to do it by always thinking about cooperative learning, and motivating students to work in different types of groups.
Critical thinking is a main point; teaching students to remake their knowledge, discover rules, and explore different possibilities leads them to be more autonomous in their learning.
Teaching is also modeling, and this is something we must take into account when we choose our attitude when working; not only in more serious and formal affairs like planning lessons, but also in our everyday answers, words, reactions or moods.
